Sasha

Oleksandra, who goes by nickname Sasha, is a sociable and dynamic leader from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. She remembers her childhood as a very happy period of her life, she grew up with her parents and younger brother in a friendly and warm atmosphere. However, in 2014, war began and her father went to defend the country. After some time, her parents divorced, which was the first heavy blow for Sasha.

Sasha's mom randomly signed her up for Young Life camp in high school. Although hesitant to participate, she was impressed by the relationships of the people and quickly changed her mind about God. Since she was not from a Christian family, Sasha learned afresh about Jesus through Young Life. In awe, she dedicated her life to Him, and she immediately became an active part of the team. She now actively serves teenagers, reaching them where they are and sharing the love of Christ. The recent death of her father in war has been yet another devastating blow for Sasha. “After my father's death, I have realized even more that God is my only hope in this world, and I must hope even more in Him. I am hungry to spend even more time with God and share about Him with others.”

As a Developing Global Leader, Sasha is pursuing a Journalism degree in a university in Lviv and hopes to pursue a career in television journalism. Sasha has big plans and dreams for her education, career, and her ministry. Her heart burns to share the Gospel with others and is expectant to see God at work in all areas of her life.
