Gennadii

Gilles is servant-hearted young man from Central Asia. After his parents’ divorce when he was a child, his father left for another country. He remained with his mother, grandmother and two siblings. His main childhood challenge was his mother's alcoholism and her overprotection.

As an atheist at this time of his life, Gilles did not even think about the existence of God. He first heard about the personality of Christ as God at Young Life club, when he was invited by a friend. He was very interested and began to learn more by attending different churches and asking people questions. After he visited Young Life camp, he joined the team. During this time, he decided to accept Christ, repent and dedicate his life to God, which became a turning point for him. From a young age he became interested in music and began to develop in this direction. He now serves on the Young Life team by working with the band, taking care of the equipment and lighting, and as a leader, reaching out to young people in his city.

Now, as a Developing Global Leader he is attending a local university, where he is studying business and economics. He believes that higher education will affect his life by satisfying the material needs of his family and other people. Currently, he boldly takes on various responsibilities and fulfills them diligently. Also, being in the DGL program, he will be able to participate even more actively in the Young Life ministry and teach children about God’s unconditional love.
