Srabonti is a kind and compassionate young woman from the outskirts of a large city in Bangladesh. Life with her loving family was always shrouded by the stress of economic hardship. Given Srabonti’s sensitivity to suffering, she was all too aware, even from a young age, of the stress and burden that encumbered her father as he tried to provide for her mother, brother and her.
Srabonti grew up in the church with her family and during a prayer time when she was fifteen, she sensed the Holy Spirit’s presence and was overwhelmed by the nearness of God, dramatically changing the trajectory of her life. She shares, “When I received Jesus, He changed my motivation and helped me to get rid of the anxiety and fear of the future. I have since faced many challenges when I do God's work. In Bangladesh, it's not easy. But, yes, I have won the challenge by resting in God’s provision.”
Now, a Developing Global Leader, Srabonti is committed to leading Young Life in her community while studying math at a local university. She explains, “Teaching is my hobby, so I chose to major in math so I can be a teacher one day and can help my students be motivated to learn and grow. I hope to be a moral and ideal role model in my community.” Ultimately, Srabonti is passionate about making disciples and being involved in ministry in every aspect of her life. Srabonti will be the first in her family to graduate from university.
