Jesoy

Jesoy is a passionate leader who sets an example everywhere he goes. From a small village in Bangladesh, Jesoy shares that his childhood was very difficult and greatly impacted by his family’s lack of resources. He recalls, “when I was very young, my older brother and I sold palm kernels in the street to earn money for daily food.” Although his father worked hard as a rickshaw driver, there were always struggles to meet daily needs.

Jesoy met Jesus when he was seventeen years old, but expresses that he had experienced moments throughout his childhood where he knew there must be a God at work. Jesoy became involved with Young Life and was mentored by a former DGL student. He began to see how God wanted to grow his strong leadership skills and compassionate desire to help others. As a volunteer leader Jesoy has learned that he can mix well with people and loves leading a team. Now Jesoy trusts that God has a much bigger plan for his life and will use the adversity he has faced to help him invest in and develop others.

With a vision to serve God through Young Life, Jesoy wants to use his university degree in political science to help grow the kingdom of God. He hopes that studying political science will help him gain greater understanding of politics and culture in order to more effectively share the Gospel in his community.
