Temuulen

Temuulen who also goes by Tema, is a creative and empathetic young man from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. He lives with his parents and is the eldest child with three younger siblings. His home life has been significantly impacted by their lack of financial security causing stress and strain on the family relationships in spite of the support his parents try to offer. Temuulen shares that his greatest struggle has been overcoming his shyness. His lack of confidence has left him isolated from his peers and loneliness has deeply wounded his mental health.

The first time Temuulen heard about Jesus Christ was at Young Life club, prior he knew only false ideals about God. The invitation of a friend ignited a desire to know more and Temuulen could not resist the warmth and fellowship of time with peers. That summer he went to Young Life camp and decided to follow Jesus and in Temuulen’s words, “God changed my life 180 degrees.”

Now a Developing Global Leader, Temuulen hopes to grow in his confidence in speaking to a large group, develop deep connection with students, and mentor teens. Temuulen is fulfilling his childhood dream of studying art and design and is earning a degree in computer graphic design from University of Mongolian Science Technology. Temuulen expresses it best when he says, “I belong with art. I now know my creativity and drawing talent were given by God, and from childhood I have been certain of my direction of study. I can do this and love it!” Temuulen will be the first in his family to attend university.
