Sunny

My name is Sunny and I live in a large city in Bangladesh with my parents and two siblings. Depression was a challenge for me growing up, partially due to our family’s great need. In spite of my father working diligently throughout my childhood, his job was never enough to bear all the expenses of our family. Additionally, my elder brother stopped his education journey because of a lack of money. Becoming a graduate was his dream, but he sacrificed his dream for our family and for my opportunity to continue to be educated. This incident broke my heart and has propelled me to overcome the challenges I face and be a good steward of the gift I have received and learn to depend on God in every situation of life.

From my childhood I have been very involved with my church which greatly influenced my life from an early age. In addition to being mentored through my youth group, my involvement with Young Life shaped me and matured my faith as I learned to use my talents to bring glory to God. As a participant in the Developing Global Leaders program my goal will be to make disciples who take to heart the mission of reaching students with the love of God.

A passion for electronics and the way they work originated in my heart at a young age. Because I live in a developing country where few people have proper knowledge of electronics and technology, I desire to use my degree in engineering and computer science to positively influence my country. I am honored to fulfill my family’s dream by becoming the first to graduate from university.
