Angel

My name is Angel, but I go by Chaco. I live in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico, with my mother, two sisters and three nephews. One of the greatest challenges I’ve faced in life was the death of my father; I now hold tremendous responsibility for the welfare of my family. Being the man of the house has been challenging but also has led me to become the person I am today. I am willing to stand up under this burden and have experienced the great love and support of God through it all. After first hearing about Jesus at Young Life camp, I returned home eager to grow and had Young Life leaders who invested in me and taught me the way to walk. In turn, many past habits and struggles began to fall away as I stepped into maturity and responsibility. Following my leader’s example, I am honored to walk through life’s highs and lows with teens in my community.

I am compelled to follow in my father’s footsteps as an accountant, and confident I can put to use my intellectual and mathematical mind as I study accounting at Universidad Autonoma de Chiapas. As a Developing Global Leader, I am dedicated to growing and serving my community and country and dream of one day working for Young Life operations team, trusting that God will ultimately use me according to His good plan.
