Glory

I am Glory from Parañaque, an urban city in the Philippians. I grew up living in my grandparents' house, and was primarily raised by them. My grandfather played a huge role in being a support system for me throughout my childhood; he always believed in my ability to achieve. When I was in high school my grandfather passed away due to kidney disease, it was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through.

Although I was raised in the church, it wasn’t until my grandfather passed away that I realized what a blessing church and Young Life were in my life. My community came around me and supported me through the hard time. This experience pushed me closer to God and taught me that there is nothing I can't bring to Him, in both the good and bad times. I have learned that Jesus understands everyone and will always prevail and be the protector of faith.

As a Developing Global Leader, I will become the first in my family to attend college. I will be going to the Olivatez College in the Philippians to study management. I have always taken on a manager role in my life, and I am excited to have the opportunity to go to college and learn how to turn the skills God has given me into professional experience. I hope one day to own my own business and be able to support my family. I also hope to stay involved in my community through Young Life, and show others the love of Christ the same way my leaders shown me.
