Kevin

My name is Kevin. I am from Ecuador and live in Rio Negro with my mother. I have a large extended family who live close to me and have stood in the gap after the separation of my parents. When I was a child, I was very happy because I had many cousins and friends with whom I could go out to play. I loved the familiarity and security of growing up in a small town where everyone knew one another.

When I was twelve years old, my cousin invited me to a meeting where we played, had fun and heard about Jesus. It was there that I met Jesus and committed my life to following Him. As time went on, I became more involved in church, and became part of the worship team. I eventually learned about Young Life and was invited to camp. That camp left an incredible impression on me; I could revel in the joy of being a kid and it made me value Jesus more in my life. Jesus changed my life; when I approach Him, I feel a joy that compels me to share with others.

I have always loved mathematics and knew I wanted to pursue a career that utilized my gifting. As a Developing Global Leader, I am studying Industrial Engineering at Universidad Tecnica de Ambato and hope to serve by further developing and growing my community. I am a Young Life leader and seek to invite kids and attract more young people to Jesus. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
