Jeff

My name is Jefferson. I am twenty-four years old and live with my mother and my sister in La Vega, a large city in the Dominican Republic. I’m the eldest of four brothers and have taken on much responsibility since my father’s absence from the home. I grew up in a poor neighborhood but am grateful to have been surrounded by such good people.

When I was a boy, my mom took me to church and taught me about faith, however it was difficult for me to understand the significance in my life at the time. Later, a friend invited me to Young Life camp where I met Jesus. It was the most beautiful event to ever happen to me. I heard about the love of Jesus and was comforted by being fully known by God. Jesus has changed my life and saved me and I am compelled to share His love with teens in my community.

I have always wanted to fluent in multiple languages and am studying modern languages at Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. I hope to use this knowledge to become a teacher and introduce students to new languages and cultures. Ultimately, as a Developing Global Leader, I want to persevere in my education and serve as a role model in my community by walking alongside teens in their journey of faith.
