Libbi

My name is Libbi. I am from the small city of La Vega, in central Dominican Republic, where I live with my mother and my older sister. My sister and I spent most of our time together, as our mother was always working and our father was not involved in our lives. However, I reflect back on my childhood and see how the gaps were filled by the affection of extended family and a close community of neighbors.

Raised in the church, my mother always introduced me to the path of the Lord. I went to a Young Life camp and there I felt the call to serve God. He awakened a passion in me to tell teenagers about Jesus in a fun and engaging way. I have found that my life is the most exciting and fulfilling, when I am actively giving away my life to God.

As a Developing Global Leader, I have the opportunity to continue serving the Lord as a Young Life leader in two different communities near me, while studying industrial engineering at the Mother and Teacher Pontifical Catholic University. I hope to use my love for numbers and innovative thinking as I pursue a career in engineering.
