Issa

My name is Issa and I live in Palestine, specifically Aboud, one of the villages of Ramallah. My household consists of seven people, including my mother, father, and my brother, and we relocated from Jordan to live with my aunt and uncle and my grandmother. The transition was very difficult during my teenage years, but I learned to be adaptable and relied heavily on my family for their support. I grew up in a Christian home and attended church regularly, however, it was through my involvement in Young Life that I truly understood the love of Jesus. As a leader, I am challenged to grow in my understanding of God’s Word and learn to more boldly share my faith with the teens in my club.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I have the opportunity to expand my passion for wellness, sports, and people by pursuing a physical education degree at Birzeit University. As a part of this program, I am committed to study and work and serve with honesty and integrity. I want to become a physical education teacher and serve as a coach, trainer, and mentor for others. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
