Rebira

My name is Rabira Rafisa and I am from the large city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am an only child. I spent the early days of my childhood in Dire Dawa with my parents, however, when I was six years old, my father and mother divorced. My mother and I left and went to live with her extended family. I have been greatly influenced by my mother’s resilience and I have a lot of love and respect for her.

My mother has been a believer since I was a child and she was the first person to introduce Christ to me through her life of perseverance. Seeing the way God sustained my mom motivated me to change my life and follow Christ. Joining the Young Life ministry gave me my first opportunity for leadership, providing training and love, which further motivated me to grow and serve.

My plan for the future is to follow my education to Admas University to pursue a degree in accounting. I want to become an accountant and help in the financial sector of my country. As a Developing Global Leader, I am passionate about helping many young people in my community hear about the love of Christ and help them grow in their faith. I also want to invest in leaders like me, and further develop their leadership skills and confidence.
