Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is slightly larger than the state of Montana and completely landlocked. Education is important to Zimbabweans, but lack of resources and language barriers prevent many students from progressing through the system. The schools are not free in Zimbabwe and since many families can't afford the tuition and/or the uniforms, many school-age children are working instead of in school. Christianity is the predominant religion in Zimbabwe, however, traditional indigenous practices and beliefs are mixed in with Christian worship.
There is one national Young Life staff member and 45 volunteer leaders in Zimbabwe. There are two areas with ministry and about 375 kids at club each week.
