South Africa

Located on the southern-most tip of Africa, South Africa has one of the most diverse climates in the world. Deserts, beaches, rainforest, and mountainous terrain are just some of the vast landscape that make up this country. Living under the apartheid until 1994, the country still struggles with the effects of racial separation. Today, much of the country is divided by white, black and colored townships. South Africa is broken into nine provinces, and is also home to some of the world’s finest sea ports. Roughly 56 million people call South Africa home.

Young Life’s work began in South Africa in 2012.
