The 7,107 islands of the Philippines are spread out over a large territory, with most of the population living on 11 main islands. Education is a priority in the Philippines; more than 75 percent of Filipino children continue on to high school, where one year of military training is included. Many students will continue on to a four-year college. More than 80 percent of the population belongs to the Roman Catholic Church, however, Islam and Buddhism also exist.
There are 24 national Young Life staff in the Philippines overseeing approximately 60 Young Life clubs with more than 2,200 kids at those clubs every week.
