Panama

Panama is slightly smaller than South Carolina and is one of several countries that comprise Central America.

Although primary education is mandatory from the ages of 7 to 15, only 72 percent of children complete primary school and go on to secondary education. Generally, secondary schools are located in larger towns, which makes it more difficult for rural children to attend. Panama has several vocational schools, a national university, a Catholic university, and several church-owned schools that students may attend once their secondary education is complete.

Panamanians believe, regardless of their class, each individual should be treated with dignity and respect. Tradition, family loyalty, stability, and wealth are all important values in their society.
