Palestinian Territories

The Palestinian Territories include the Gaza Strip and West Bank. The Gaza Strip is located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is slightly more than twice the size of Washington, D.C. The West Bank is slightly smaller than Delaware and is much more hilly and rugged. Included in the Palestinian territories are several cities with biblical significance including Bethlehem, Hebron and Jericho, which is sometimes referred to as the "Oldest City in the World." As in most Middle Eastern countries, hospitality is very important. Bread is served with most meals - often in place of silverware - and olives, hummus, shawarma, and falafel sandwiches are just a few of the amazing foods this region has to offer.
